읽으면서 모르는 단어가 너무 많아서 화가났다. 이 사람은 고급어휘를 많이 써서 과시를 하고싶은걸까? 한 문장에 모르는 단어가 3개 이상 있을 때도 있다. 그냥 화난다.

저 뉴욕타임스 러닝네트워크 사이트의 좋은 점은 코멘트를 달 수 있는 기능이 있다. 이곳에서 학생들이 단 댓글들을 확인할 수 있었는데 어휘수준이 상당해서 사전을 끼고 읽어야했다. 안타까운 현상태지만 계속 공부하다 보면 한번에 이해할 수 있는 날이 오겠지.

이 기사는 3.8일에 발발한 러시아와 사우디 아라비아 사이의 유가전쟁에 관한 영어기사이다. 원유 생산량 감산 합의 실패로 유가가 폭락하였고 이로 인한 영향력이 커지자 (석유 사업이 타격을 받고 관련 기업들이 연쇄 부도가 남) 트럼프가 나서서 중재를 한다는 내용.

최근 호주에서는 소에서 나온 우유가 아닌, 낙타 우유에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다고 한다. 바로 건강상의 이유 때문!

낙타 우유는 소 우유보다 영양분이 더 풍부하다고 알려져있다. 구체적으로 비타민 c, 비타민 b, 철분, 칼슘 마그네슘, 포타슘이 더 풍부하다. 

그리고 2016년 호주정부의 시장평가에서 낙타우유가 음식등의 알러지를 완화해주고 인슐린 의존도를 낮추어주며 당뇨와 소화장애에 도움이 된다고 평가받았다. 

이런 점에서 낙타우유를 슈퍼푸드라 칭하며 찾는 소비자들이 늘어난 것이다. 

낙타 우유를 생산하는 농장주들은 낙타들을 소중한 가족의 일원으로 여기며 정성을 다해 만들고 있다고 한다. 태국 등으로의 수출도 늘어나고 있는 상황. 이들은 낙타우유를 이용한 스킨케어제품, 치즈, 초콜릿 등으로 상품을 늘려갈 것이라고 한다. 

중동에서 일어난 메르스 바이러스를 걱정하고 있는 사람도 있다지만 호주 낙타들은 그런 질병에서 프리하다는 것. 메르스 바이러스는 낙타와 접촉을 하거나 가공되지않은 생 우유를 마심으로써 인간에게도 감염이 될 수 있고 사망에 까지 이르게하는 치명적인 질병이다. 

그러나 낙타우유는 소 우유보다 12배정도 높은 가격을 자랑한다. 게다가 워홀러인 나도 마트에서 본 적이 없는 것 같은데 내가 관심을 안가져서 모르는 것 일 수도 있다. 잘 모르겠다. 

낙타우유의 생김새는 소 우유 평범한 우유랑 아주 비슷하다고 한다. 게다가 맛도 비슷하다고 한다. 하지만 소 우유보다 낙타 우유가 살짝 더 짭쪼름하다고 하는데 궁금해서 한 번 먹어보고 싶은 호기심이 생긴다.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

아... 찾아보니 호주의 낙타우유는 좀 보편적인 편 인 듯도 하고... IGA에서 판매하고 있다는 글도 보니 분명 내가 못보고 지나쳤을것 같다. 다음에 한번 시도해봐야겠다는 생각이 든다.
