He was a good friend to converse with. Since we had different backgrounds and had little understanding about each other's cultures, some niceties would make us upset and sometimes make sore at each other. We mostly zeroed in on my improvement of language skills, It might be not equivalent for him, I was always at the position that taking advantages of the chats. If I get ahead soon in north america, i'll put the success down to his selfless dedication towards my improvement. I regret thatn I didn't really care about the discord suggestion he put forward. The upsetting feeling after his disappearance is assuaged now, but still I miss the times. I tried to take the edge off with talking to other people, but my final verdic is nobody can replace him.

Put something down to something 은 헷갈리는데 I put the children's bad behaviour down to the fact that they were tired.  

equivalent 는 다양하게 쓰일 수 있다.  양, 가치, 목적, 퀄리티 등 She's doing the equivalent job in the new company but for more money. / Is $50 equivalent to about #30?
