그래머 인 유즈로 공부한 것을 오늘도 정리해보았다. 

believe in , believe 어떻게 다를까?

-believe in 명사 = 신을 믿다, -하는 것이 맞다고 믿다

specialize in

- ~분야에 전문화 되다

succeed in

-I hope you succeed in finding a job you want.

break into

-도둑들다

crash into, drive into, bump into, run into

-부딪히다

-bump into, run into 다음 사람이 오면 우연히 마주치다라는 뜻도 있다. 

-drive into 는 운전중에 -에 부딪히다 라는 뜻이다. 

divide into, cut into, split into + two or more parts

-The book is divided into three parts.

translate a bool "from one language into another"

-Ernest Hermingway's books have been translated into many languages.

collide with

-A bus collieded with a car

provide(supply) +somebody + with

-Ths school provides all its students with books.

prefer A to B

-than이 아니라 to 를 쓴다는 점을 기억해야한다.

-I prefer coffee to tea.

단어를 아무리 많이 알더라도 그것과 연결되어 쓰이는 전치사를 알아두는 것이 정말 중요한 것 같다. 구동사와도 연결되는데, 다음부터는 그래머인 유즈에서 phrasal verbs를 공부해보도록 하겠다. 자주 수시로 읽으면서 익숙해지는 것이 좋은것같다. 

가장 쓸모있다고 생각하는 영어문법 책, grammar in use 그래머 인 유즈를 통해 배운 영어문법 내용을 정리해보았다. 

<dream about and dream of>

dream about (잘 때 꾸는 꿈)

dream of/about being/doing something (상상)

ex) Do you dream about being rich and famous?

+) Wouldn't dream of - :꿈도 꾸지 않을 것이다. 절대 하지 않을 것이다.

<think about and think of>

think about : 고려하다, 생각하다

think of : 떠올리다. 생각해내다 /기호를 표현할 때

ex) what did you think of the film? I didn't think much of it. = I didn't like it much.

<remind somebody about, remind somebody of>

you reminded me about the meeting = 네가 나에게 미팅에 대해 상기시켜주었다

this reminded me of that = 이게 나에게 그걸 떠올리게 해주었다

<complain about, complain of>

-We complained to the manager of the restaurant about the food. (불평)

-He was complaining of a pain in his stomach. (말하다)

<warn about, warn of>

I warned about him = "him" 이 위험한 대상

they have warned us about/of that = "that" 이 위험할 수도 있다는 것

<accuse/ suspect + somebody + of>

-she accused me of being selfish

<approve/disapprove + of>

-His parents don't approve of what he does, but they can't stop him.

<die + of/from an illness>

-What did he died of?

<consist + of>

-We had an enormous meal. It consisted of seven courses.

<pay + somebody + for>

-I don't have enough money to pay for the meal. (not pay the meal)

*****exceptions*****

pay a bill, pay a fine, pay tax, pay rent etc - without preposition

<thank/forgive + somebody + for>

-I'll never forgive them for what they did.

<apologize + for>

-I apoligized to them for my mistake.

<blame + for>, <blame + on>

-Everybody said that I was to blame for the accident.

-Everybody blamed me for that accident.

*-Everybody blamed the accident on me.

<suffer + from + an illness>

-the nember of people suffering from heart disease has increased.

<protect + something + from/against>

-Sun block protects the skin from the sun. (against the sun)

<live + on + money/food>

-live on : 먹고살다

-live on hope, live on rice, : 희망에 살다, 쌀을 주식으로 하다

-보통 돈이나 음식과 관련하여 자주 쓰임.
