Prefer and would rather, 뭐가 다르고 어떻게 쓰지?

 

 

 

 

1. prefer / would prefer 뭐가 다를까?

 

몰랐는데 간단했다. 전자는 일반적인 상황, 후자는 구체적인 상황.

 

>I prefer coffee to tea. (나는-일반적으로-나는 티보다 커피를 좋아한다.)

>Would you prefer coffee or tea? (커피 마실래, 티 마실래? )

 

형태))) prefer 명사 to 명사

prefer to 동사 rather than 동사

 

참고로 would prefer = would rather

would rather 뒤에는 동사원형이 온다.

 

would you rather have tea or coffee?

 

 

 

2. I'd rather you did something

 

과거형이 쓰이지만 의미는 현재.. 가정법에서 과거시제를 쓰는 것과 같다.

I'd rather you didn't tell anyone.

I'd rather you didn't.
